Call it a gut feeling. We were doing the first table read of the film and I invited Brennan and Sascha, two talented actors I respected, but had never worked with before, to read the leads and offer their insights to the writing process. By the end of the evening, the test audience was laughing, crying, and hanging on their every word. There was a visible chemistry. The two had never met, but the audience swore they must have rehearsed together, as the characters on the page came effortlessly to life. I took a week to think about it, but we all knew the decision was already made. We had our leads, and I could rest easy knowing the film was in good hands.
